Training Information

Special Olympics Kansas now offers on-line training.  This is for coaches who would like to be certified in a sport. Listed below are the sports that are being offered for your training certifications  Please click on the Certification test that relates to the sport. Listed below are the publications that are supporting materials for answering the questions.  If you have any questions please contactTim Rehder at rehdert@ksso.org or call 800-444-9803

STEPS TO BECOMING A SOKS COACH

All Coaches must have a Class A form and Protective Behavior Certification on file with the Headquarters office.

• Step 1:  Complete SOKS General Orientation - 1 time only
• Step 2:  Score 90% on SOKS Coaching SO Athlete - 1 time only
• Step 3:  Score 90% on Principles of Coaching - 1 time only
• Step 4:  Score 90% on Sports Specific Test - Every 4 years

Coaches Certification are good for 4 years.  Click here to view Certified Coaches.

Test Instructions,  Please fill out the needed information.  When you have completed the Certification Test, please e-mail, fax or mail to Tim Rehder.
